Soft Contact Lenses
Soft lenses are some of the most common contacts on the market and can help correct a wide variety of vision problems. They’re made of soft plastics that allow oxygen to reach the cornea for a comfortable fit that’s easy to adjust.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Contact Lenses
RGP contact lenses are more durable, and they are resistant to the buildup of dust and other debris. Additionally, they tend to last longer than soft lenses, which makes them less expensive over the long haul. However, they’re not as comfortable and may take some getting used to for first-time wearers.
Continuous-Wear Contact Lenses
Continuous-wear contacts are just that – contacts that you can wear overnight and all the time. Available options include contacts that can be worn for a week or up to a month. These two are made of flexible plastics. However, a short break should be taken before reinserting contacts after the allotted amount of days.
Disposable Contact Lenses
Many soft lenses prescribed are described as “disposable.” At Brush Optical, we offer disposable contact lenses and lenses on a replacement schedule.

Hybrid Contact Lenses
Hybrid lenses are a mix between RGP lenses and soft contacts. They combine the technology to be usable by a wide range of people for a wide variety of eye conditions. They provide the durability of an RGP lens with the comfort of a soft lens.
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) Lenses
This is a lens-fitting technique that uses RGP lenses to correct the curvature of the cornea, which temporarily improves the eye’s ability to focus on an object. We use this procedure, mainly, to correct Myopia. It’s important to note that the curvature correction is temporary and will subside after the procedure is discontinued.
Prosthetic Contact Lenses
These contacts are used to improve the appearance of the eye when there is a misshaped pupil, or the appearance of the eye varies from eye to eye. These can also be used for eyes that are different colors.
Scleral Contact Lenses
These are made of RGP lenses that are larger and are used to correct vision in a wide variety of conditions including keratoconus, post-refractive surgery, cornea issues, ocular surface disease, dry eye, and more.
